چکیده

This article presents a simple progressive damage model for quasi-brittle materials, combining orthotropic elasticity with scalar including spatial variation of the initiation strain and crack band method softening regularization. The model’s performance is first analyzed from numerical point view then demonstrated tensile tests ( 0 ° , 45 90 ), open-hole ) three-point bending short fibre-reinforced polypropylene 15 wt.% 30 glass fibres. Despite its simplicity, captures anisotropic elastic inelastic behaviour observed in experiments. applicable brittle or where variability properties negligible orientation dependency fracture small not relevant application.

Experimental Identification of Fatigue Damage Model for Short Glass Fibre Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites

A polycyclic fatigue damage model for short glass fibre reinforced thermoplastics is developed and implemented into ABAQUS FE code using UMAT subroutine. Flexural and Impact Properties of Stainless Steel based Glass Fibre Reinforced Fibre Metal Laminate under Hygrothermal Conditioning

Fibre metal laminates (FMLs) have appeared as the most suitable materials for shipbuilding, aeronautical and aerospace applications due to their superior mechanical properties over traditional materials. In this paper, degradation in flexural and impact properties of glass fibre/epoxy composite (GF/E composite) and stainless steel glass fibre/epoxy fibre metal laminate (SS FML) due to hygrother...

Introduction of Fibre-Reinforced Polymers − Polymers and Composites: Concepts, Properties and Processes

Fibre-reinforced polymer(FRP), also Fibre-reinforced plastic, is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibres. The fibres are usually glass, carbon, or aramid, al‐ though other fibres such as paper or wood or asbestos have been sometimes used. The poly‐ mer is usually an epoxy, vinylester or polyester thermosetting plastic, and phenol formaldehyde resins are still in use...

Non-Destructive Testing of Glass-Fibre Reinforced Polymers using Terahertz Spectroscopy

We present THz time-domain spectroscopy measurements on glass-fibre reinforced polymers. The experimental set-up consists of a standard free-space THz spectrometer with photoconductive emitter and detector antennas driven by a femtosecond laser source. Single-point measurements to precisely obtain the THz properties of the sample are performed as well as two-dimensional images by scanning the s...
